I'm back!

Whew, it's been a while since I've blogged... I apologize. I miss you all and reading your blog post.

What's been up???
School started... the end! Haha
I have the best 6th grade class anyone could be given. All 135 of them are super! I even miss them on the weekends, that's rare! Teaching a new subject, Reading, has also been tough to get in the routine of weekly test and structured lessons. Which I love, but I do miss coming up with my own plans. I try to integrate as much of my own ideas as I can.... Football season is in full swing, which means cheer practice three times a week gets the best of me plus Friday night football. Bless our players, they haven't one a game yet. I pray that we at least win one game this year.

Big news!!!!!!!
My sister is engaged and is having a wedding this December which means this girl is stressed. My sister and Nick originally had planned it for May but since he is in physical therapy school at South Alabama he will have clinicals in May so this December is the only available date. We are at it again, planning a wedding... But I love it!!!
Also, my sister-in-law is pregnant!!!!!!! We went to Auburn three weeks ago to celebrate the special and oh so exciting news! This upcoming year not only will I have a new brother-in-law, I'll also be an aunt!!! Whoop whoop I'm so excited!

This Labor Day I completed by first Color run in Birmingham which I loved! I would advise you to check the weather before hand. We ran in the pouring ran and froze our booty off! But it was so much fun and such a great memory! A friend and I have signed up for a half marathon in Disney world in February! The Princess half marathon, let me know if any of you have signed up for it too.

Rhett has started a new job, insurance salesman! He is now a part of Alfa insurance and he loves it! I know it makes him happy therefore it makes me happy! He loves that it's local and fun!

I can't believe it's already about to be October!!! This year is almost over and 2013 will be here!!! Time... please SLOW down!!!
Hope you all have a lovely week!

Crack

Haha, don't ya just love my title! I have this amazing recipe that I wanted to share with all of you.
We have a garden filled with beautiful delicious veggies, and so this morning I decided to make us good lunch before Rhett had to leave for work.
Its called crack squash, for all those squash lovers, like myself... It's so good you'll want to eat the entire dish of it. I guess that's where the name came from... Crack (the drug) addictive and so is this dish!!!

Crack Squash:
Squash, however many you think will be fulfilling to your serving. Cut the squash into cubes.
A sleeve of Ritz crackers, crush.
Salt
Pepper
Basil (which makes it the taste)
Parmesan cheese 1/4 cup
Put all of that into a bowl and mix together.
1/2-1 stick of butter (melted)
Mix into the bowl then place into baking pan.
Bake on 375
20-25 min. Until squash is tender.
Sprinkle the top with shredded cheese.
After you turn the oven off leave the pan in until the cheese is melted.

Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we have!

New addition

Rhett and I have exciting news......

We are parents to two sweet baby girl KITTENS!!!!
Tabby and Katie they are beautiful! I wanted a pet for in the house especially since I have this summer to train a pet... However, I asked for a puppy. Needless to I settled for kittens. I have already fallen in love with them. They have been so fun to watch especially since Rhett has started 2nd shift. I settle for a nice glass of wine and a night with the girls, Katie and Tabby. Meet the girls....

Big boy job

Rhett officially has a BIG boy job, as I call it. He went through a 3 week process at F & P in Rome, Ga. He interviewed for a supervisor position and 3 weeks later he received a call and started this past Monday. The Walker household has been super excited and blessed over this. We thank God for this wonderful blessing. Now it's all down to me! I have an interview next Friday. Please remember me in your daily prayers for Gods will be done.

This week I have enjoyed working at the boutique here in Centre that I started working at last summer. It's been a big help with gas because I shop while I work instead of driving around finding good deals. I have also been enjoying some wonderful lake time with my sister.

Last but not least our vacation bible school started Monday night. I am he music teacher and oh, how I've had a blast every night so far. May God continue to bless these wonderful children and our workers. These songs this year are awesome. I have felt the spirit through these simple VBS songs, it's amazing! Hope you are able to help out at your local church VBS it sure is a wonderful blessing.

Hope you all have been having a fabulous week.

I'm back

My goodness I think this has officially been the longest I've went without writing on my blog. Let me update you...

April: was testing time for my precious 6th graders which meant more time spent on math and reading. We looked for activities and enriching ideas to engage the students one last time before the ARMT+ test. I also started cheerleading practice with my high school squad. My normal day consisted on work till 3. Cheerleading practice from 3:30-5:30 and then two days a week I take an aerobics class the other two days I run. By the time I got home, which was around 7pm I need to cook dinner for my precious husband. It worked out well because Rhett had been working on so many jobs that he wouldn't get home till dark anyways. By the time we ate dinner and I would sneak in some time for some 50 Shades of Gray then it would be time for beauty sleep. Whew, glad that month is over!

May: we started hitting the lake on weekends since it's been pretty. In May, we celebrated my sisters birthday at a super great restaurant, Top O' the River. The next weekend was Mothers day and my family and I surprised my sweet Nana and Paw and their church. We have been kayaking with some good friends of ours on Saturdays before going on the lake. Their is a great beautiful creek, Terrapin creek, about 20 minutes from our house that we float. We love it... Cardio workout plus a good tan all in one, heck yes!!! This past weekend we celebrated our ONE year anniversary!!!! We went to Barnsley Gardens for a friends wedding and we stayed the night and went to Atlanta for a day of shopping and a nice dinner that night. We had originally decided to vacation to Savannah, Ga but since Rhett was going through the job interview process we had to sadly cancel. Rhett and will make a special vacation this summer to really celebrate our ONE year anniversary. I can't believe it's been a whole year since we've been married when it seems like only yesterday I was planning it, whew! I'm glad that's all through with but I loved it. Yesterday was my last day of teaching this year! Wow, it's been a fabulous first year of teaching as well as marriage! I was blessed to be at a great school like CMS!

Also, I have invested myself in an iPad and I absolutely love love it. If you are debating on getting one let me make your mind up for you, go get one!!! I have already been using it in my classroom as well at home.

It's finally here!!!!!!!!

SPRING BREAK is finally here!!!!!!
I have bene MIA for like nearly a month now, where have I been you may ask? Wrapped up in school, students, cheerleading try-outs, line dancing, and maintaining my wifely duties. Busy much, YES!

Cheerleading tryouts, thank goodness, are finally OVER! After a mistake I now, thankfully, have 16 beautiful cheerleaders. We had our first meeting last week and I am thankful for this squad, already. I believe we will have great potential this year. We have decided, already, about cheerleading camp this year. We will be going to PCB cheer camp, again, this year! Whoop-whoop!!!! June 11-14, please come, watch, and support CCHS cheerleaders if your vacationing during that time.
Okkkk moving on.....

I am now an official line-dancer instructor at Gadsden State Community College. This was mentioned to me in December, and I took it and ran with it. I had my first class last Thursday afternoon, and LOVED it! I have 5 ladies and 1 gentleman. I taught the basic and simple, electric slide. I am hoping after this week of rest, next Thursday, I'll have an even larger class. If you live near or around Centre, AL come join us at GSCC in Cherokee County. Bring your dancing shoes!

SPRING BREAK is here!
This past Friday, Rhett picked me up at school and we headed down to Auburn to stay with Heather and Jason, Rhett's sister and bro. in law. We celebrated Heather and Jason's birthday while we were down. Rhett's parents and granddad came down Saturday. While Rhett stayed and worked outside, Heather, Cathi(rhett & heathers mother), and I went shopping! I am pumped about all my new Spring clothing items. This means I have already completed the shopping I wanted to do over Spring Break, and now I can stay at the house and clean!
Heather and I before we left to go eat at Amsterdam, for dinner.

Heather's Birthday cake, even though she is 27, Sabrina made a lil' mistake! haha It's still super cute!
